Crozer-Keystone Health System has established an affiliation with Philadelphia CyberKnifeÒ, demonstrating the health system’s dedication and leadership in integrating the latest technologies into cancer care.
The CyberKnife® is an FDA-approved completely robotic stereotactic radiosurgery system that targets and destroys small and previously inaccessible tumors or lesions anywhere in the body. Located on West Chester Pike in Havertown, Philadelphia CyberKnifeÒ is the first and most experienced facility in the Delaware Valley with the CyberKnifeÒ system. It was acquired by US Radiosurgery, a Nashville, Tenn.-based organization that establishes partnerships with surgeons, radiation oncologists and hospitals to develop and manage radiosurgery services across the United States.
“This partnership is a clear statement about our commitment to providing the most advanced and effective cancer services,” said Robert Wilson, senior vice president for Administration and chief information officer for Crozer-Keystone Health System. “Not only are we very pleased to be able to offer this groundbreaking medical device to our patients, but we are very fortunate to have many highly skilled and well trained physicians and staff who are able to use the CyberKnifeÒ to its fullest potential. We are confident this community will greatly benefit from this technology in the months and years ahead.”
“The goal of this partnership is to meet the needs of local physicians, patients and the surrounding community with regard to the treatment of benign and malignant tumors throughout the body. This technology is a tremendous asset to health care delivery in this area and I am excited about the expertise these new partners bring to our facility so we are able to ensure that we are meeting that goal on a consistent basis,” says the Center’s medical director, Luther Brady, M.D., an internationally renowned radiation oncologist. |
