SPRINGFIELD, Pa. – Crozer-Keystone Health System’s Senior Health Services Department will offer a number of informational programs during the month of November.
Dining at Dusk: Crozer-Keystone is proud to present “Dining at Dusk,” a low-cost dining program that offers free lectures geared toward seniors. Join us for these events in November:

A Conversation on Breast Health and Treatment Options, featuring Mary Lou Patton, M.D., surgeon and American College of Surgeons cancer liaison physician for the Crozer Regional Cancer Center. Thursday, November 6, 5-7 p.m., Crozer-Chester Medical Center Cafeteria, One Medical Center Boulevard, Upland. Lecture is free; meal costs $5.30 and includes entrée, roll, choice of two sides, dessert and a fountain drink. Free parking is also included.

Dental Implications of Medications for Osteoporosis & Bone Malignancies, featuring Daniel Daley Jr., D.D.S., chief of the Section of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at DCMH. Wednesday, November 12, 4:30-7 p.m., Delaware County Memorial Hospital cafeteria, 501 N. Lansdowne Avenue, Drexel Hill. Wake Up and Work Out: Start your day the healthy way! Come join us as Crozer-Keystone Senior Health Services and the Healthplex® Sports Club provide seniors with an opportunity to jump start their day by participating in structured health and wellness programs, while offering an affordable balanced breakfast. Participants will also benefit from the support of CKHS staff that will assist in coordinating medical appointments, as well as provide better access to appropriate medical services.
Program will be offered on Tuesday, November 4. A healthy breakfast, beginning at 7:45 a.m., may be purchased for $3 or less; followed by a 30-minute lecture, both to be held in Café Carl. A one-hour physical fitness session will then be led by a member of the Healthplex® team. Free garage parking. Call 1-800-CK-HEALTH (1-800-254-3258) for more information and to register.
AARP Defensive Driving: An eight-hour driving safety course held on two days that can help you improve your driving skills and save you money on insurance. Courses will be held on Tuesday, November 4 and Friday, November 7, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. at the Healthplex® Sports Club in Springfield; Saturday, November 8 and Saturday, November 15, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in Classrooms A & B of Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park; and Tuesday, November 18 and Thursday, November 20, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. in the Community Room of Crozer Medical Plaza at Brinton Lake in Glen Mills. Cost of the course is $10, with check made payable to AARP.
Also, a four-hour driving safety refresher course will be held on Wednesday, November 5, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. in the Conference Center at Delaware County Memorial Hospital. Cost of the course is $10, with check made payable to AARP. Registrant must provide proof of previous participation in eight-hour course. Caregiver's Support Group, Thursday November 6 at 6 p.m. When an adult child becomes the parent of the parent, it can become very stressful — sometimes individuals just need to realize they are not the only ones dealing with that situation. The Caregiver Support Group meets the first Thursday of every month in the dining room of the ACE Unit located on 2 East of Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland.
