Alcohol, Street Drugs, Party Drugs and Inhalant Abuse, Awareness & Prevention –  Discuss alcohol, street and party drugs (including date rape drugs), and inhalant abuse and prevention. Explains short- and long-term effects of drug or alcohol abuse/usage on the body; what body organs are affected and related health problems; and pre-hospital treatment and emergency room treatment for overdoses.  Program is usually provided for students from grades 5th thru 12th, and can be adapted for age specific as needed. Maybe presented in specific parts, i.e., just alcohol, or just inhalant abuse. Also, provide a prescription drug abuse awareness program. Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementia – An overview of the impact of Alzheimer’s Disease as well as other dementia. This program focuses on the aging and memory process and explains the differences between normal aging and forgetting. Cancer Related Topics – The Crozer-Keystone Health System Cancer Program has speakers available to address all aspect of cancer. This includes site-specific cancers, treatment options, symptom management, prevention and early detection, and genetics. There is no charge for these programs.  The sponsoring organization must provide the date, time and location, as well as audiovisual equipment as needed and marketing of the program. Crozer C.A.R.E.S. Secondhand Smoke:  Making Your Environment Smoke Free – Smoke from cigarettes, cigars and pipes can cause serious health problems, not only for smokers but for nonsmokers too.  Through this program, you will learn the health effects secondhand smoke can have on your health and body.  Participants will learn how to protect themselves and their families from secondhand smoke in the home, workplace, or when out in public. Smoking Cessation: Freedom From Smoking (FFS) – FFS is a tobacco cessation program created by the American Lung Association.  This 8-session group program uses a positive behavior-change approach that teaches the smoker how to quit.  Participants will receive information on developing a quit plan, understanding and dealing with nicotine addiction, the use of nicotine replacement therapies, controlling weight, managing stress and relapse prevention strategies.  Nicotine replacement therapy is available FREE to those who qualify.  Program limited annually. Stress - Less is Best: Techniques That Can HelpParticipants will demonstrate the ability to practice guided imagery as a relaxation and stress management technique.  In addition, music bingo will allow participants to recognize the importance of music and how it influences relaxation and self-enjoyment.
