A representative will contact you to confirm your appointment the next business day.

2. Call 1-866-5-CK-XRAY (1-866-525-9729). _______________________________________

Crozer-Keystone Health System strives to provide our clinicians with the most advanced technologies for diagnosis and treatment. One technology that has had a positive impact on patient care is PACS, or the Picture Archiving Communication System.

Instead of using traditional film, PACS provides immediate access to patient images on a computer for the reading radiologist as well as the ordering physician, the primary care physician or specialist. This technology is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Using voice recognition technology, the radiologist is able to provide an immediate report of all images obtained. The radiologist can dictate a report that is immediately processed on a computer for approval and signature. This report is then forwarded to the ordering physician.

Along with providing an immediate report of the images, PACS allows numerous physicians in various locations – such as the Radiology Department, the Emergency Department and physician offices - to view and discuss the patient’s radiology images at the same time. This produces a faster diagnosis and treatment plan, if needed.

PACS also provides us with the ability to burn (record) patient images to a CD (compact disc). This allows a patient to receive a copy of multiple radiology studies on one CD, which is much less cumbersome than receiving a folder full of X-ray films.
