As a teaching hospital, Crozer-Chester Medical Center is dedicated to training tomorrow's outstanding pediatricians today. The primary goals of the Crozer Pediatric Residency program are to develop knowledgeable, skilled, compassionate and ethical pediatricians, capable of providing the highest quality health care to children in any setting.
Crozer pediatric residency training is comprehensive, and residents are taught to provide complete patient care, taking into account the medical, emotional, social and psychological issues that affect young patients. Pediatric residents serve as the primary caretakers of nearly 100 percent of hospitalized pediatric patients and receive training in the care of the well and ill newborn, neonatology, outpatient pediatrics, adolescent medicine and various subspecialties. Attending physicians are dedicated to resident education, and they are available 24 hours a day to supervise and to lend a hand to residents.
In addition to their experience at Crozer, pediatric residents receive about 25 percent of their training at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia under the direction and supervision of Children's Hospital physicians.
