Our Commitment to New Physicians and Providers

Crozer-Keystone is committed to training the health-care providers of tomorrow: physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals. The system's hospitals sponsor freestanding residencies in five allopathic programs - Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Transitional First Year - as well as an Osteopathic Internal Medicine, Osteopathic Rotating Internship, a 36-month Podiatric Residency, and a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship. Crozer-Keystone also offers accredited allied health programs in radiologic technology, respiratory care, diagnostic ultrasound, and clinical neurophysiology. There is also a comprehensive pharmacy residency program.

Crozer-Keystone maintains a strong tradition of medical education and training, offering the benefits of a university-based teaching model plus the advantages of community-based medicine. Medical residents receive rigorous academic training combined with hands-on experience, which fully prepares them to pursue their career goals.

The majority of Crozer-Keystone residency training takes place at Crozer-Chester Medical Center, a not-for-profit tertiary-care teaching hospital with 426 beds, modern facilities and services, and a rich history. Situated on a picturesque, 68-acre campus in the Borough of Upland, Pa., Crozer-Chester Medical Center is a symbol of both tradition and innovation. Crozer-Chester's physical structures span over 140 years, ranging from the stately Old Main Building - a Civil War-era U.S. Army hospital and former site of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s alma mater, the Crozer Theological Seminary - to the highly sophisticated Crozer Regional Trauma Center and the Crozer Regional Cancer Center, a part of the Fox Chase Crozer-Keystone Cancer Partnership.

Crozer-Chester Medical Center is the product of the 1963 merger of two well-respected institutions, Chester Hospital and Crozer Hospital, both of which served the people of Delaware County since the turn of last century. Both hospitals brought to the merger a legacy of extensive involvement in regional medical education. Crozer-Keystone has wholeheartedly embraced this philosophy, training students from medical schools across the Delaware Valley and residents from across the nation.
